Syntergy provides a key role in developing applications for AWWA

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) regularly relies on Syntergy for help implementing Livelink-based solutions that add value in practical, real-world applications. AWWA installed Livelink^® to provide basic document management, collaboration, and knowledge management tools, including content management for the Web site (http://www.awwa.org). Several projects have evolved to link data from the web and document repository with other enterprise systems via Livelink^® forms and workflow. Building on expertise from Syntergy, AWWA has expanded the Livelink^® platform to support solid, functional systems for interactions between staff, volunteers, and customers.

The AWWA Bookstore (online at http://www.awwa.org/bookstore) generates a vital revenue stream for the Association through product sales. Launch of a newly restructured Bookstore capability in January 2003 required new tools for creating product entries and revising that content as needed. Syntergy’s deep knowledge of Livelink^® functionality supported AWWA staff in developing form-based workflow for drafting and review of catalog copy, creation of images, and related tasks, ending with posting of data from Livelink^® to the Association’s main transaction database that runs the Bookstore. Then Syntergy helped develop form-based tools for reviewing and revising product data to keep Bookstore content up to date. 

In addition, tools developed by Syntergy allow Livelink^® to process abstract submissions from prospective presenters at AWWA conferences. Users submit forms on the AWWA Web site that post data to Livelink^® forms for staff review, followed by automated entry to existing association management software. Syntergy plays a continuing role in developing and maintaining reliable, streamlined processes for efficient data management and effective application of very limited staff resources. This partnership helps to ensure that AWWA can continue to fulfill its vital role protecting public health and confidence in safe drinking water throughout North America.
