Syntergy Announces Development of Replicator 2.0 for Microsoft Office SharePoint™ Server 2007
Software Reduces Infrastructure Costs and Further Extends the Power of Microsoft SharePoint™ Products and Technologies
Bellevue, WA- May 15, 2006 - Syntergy, Inc., a leading provider of products for enhancing Microsoft SharePoint™ Products and Technologies, today announced the development of Replicator 2.0 at the Microsoft SharePoint™ Conference. Syntergy is demonstrating the beta version of its replication software, which is fully compatible with Microsoft Office SharePoint™ Server 2007. Already in production, Replicator 1.5 is also being demonstrated at the conference and will be launched May 30, 2006.
Providing a cost-effective way of addressing the bandwidth challenges faced by decentralized organizations, replication technology enhances the ability of the SharePoint™ platform to boost organizational effectiveness and optimize how people, content, processes, and business applications interact.
"The challenge many organizations face today is ensuring that current information is available locally to those who require it," said David Seaman, chief operating officer at Syntergy. "Syntergy, in conjunction with Microsoft, is striving to provide users with a unique SharePoint™ experience. More than a caching solution, replicating the SharePoint™ experience between two or more sites enables organizations to push modifications to any replicated object or document back to every other SharePoint™ site-putting the most up-to-date information available into the hands of the people who need it, when they need it."
By "copying" instances of SharePoint™ at local levels, replication technology reflects the way people in disparate organizations actually work, offering added value and enhancing the SharePoint™ Products and Technologies solution. Syntergy's replication software:
- reduces network bandwidth requirements, lowering infrastructure costs;
- provides faster access to the most current document versions;
- stores documents and metadata locally
- pushes scheduled or instant replication synchronization between SharePoint™ Server sites
- allows conflict resolution through full event-level version control at the server
"Microsoft is pleased to be working together with Syntergy to maximize the value we deliver to our customers," said Kurt DelBene, Corporate Vice President, Microsoft Office Server Group. "In today's global network, bandwidth requirements, costs and outages pose significant challenges for many of the world's distributed organizations. Replication is a key technology that can help overcome those challenges by providing a single, centralized custom view of SharePoint™ Server 2007 to decentralized users in an organization."
May 15-17, 2006, Syntergy is demonstrating Replicator 1.5 and the beta version of Replicator 2.0 for SharePoint™ Server 2007 at the Microsoft SharePoint™ Conference in Bellevue, Washington.
