A large semiconductor manufacturer
publishes specifications on hundreds of different
microprocessors they manufacture to their external
Web site. The information is presented as HTML
pages with links to PDF documents that contain
detailed information on each chip. Syntergy developed
a custom module that allows all of the information
to be stored in Livelink® as documents,
templates, and attributes.
The MVA module can dynamically
generate HTML pages from document attributes
and templates. These pages then automatically
attach to workflows and rout to the appropriate
people for approval and quality assurance. Once
the workflows have been successfully completed,
the MVA module publishes HTML pages and associated
PDF documents to the external Web site. It also
builds appropriate hyperlinks, headers, and footers
into the finished documents, based on attributes
and parameters.
The manufacturer used the Bulk
Loader from Syntergy to load thousands of PDF
documents and their associated attributes into
Livelink®. By using the Bulk Loader,
they saved several hundred hours that they would
have needed to manually load the information.
