A Syntergy developer performed
one of the first customizations to Livelink®.
The customer wanted to rebrand Livelink® as
an internally developed application that would
allow users to manage product lifecycles. We added
several customizations to enhance the functionality
of the out-of-the-box product including:
- A project-creation wizard
that automatically populated the Project workspace
with template documents based on the category
of the project
- Dynamic workflow map creation
that built and initiated workflow maps as needed
- Enhanced security through
automatic logins
- Custom change agent notices
The most significant change was
to eliminate the term "Livelink®" from
all Web pages and messages visible to the user.
In addition, much of the interface was redesigned
to provide a more intuitive presentation to the
user. The end result was a custom application
built in-house, using Livelink® as
the starting point.
The project was so successful
that Open Text® did a case study
about it.
