Overview

The OpenText Content Suite platform is a highly extensible through configuration and customizations. There are a number of powerful developer tools and API’s that allow for easy customization of the platform to meet the specifics needs of your OpenText Content Server implementation. The OpenText Content Server APIs allows developers to access the functionality of OpenText Content Server in a consistent, easy to use manner.

Due to Electronic Document Management principles, the OpenText REST API and Content Web Services (CWS) has no ability for custom or 3rd Party applications to maintain timestamps and author information when importing new content. For example, when migrating or synchronizing content from applications such as OneDrive, O-365, BOX, Dropbox, Google and Network Fileshares, users may have a requirement to preserve system metadata.

Syntergy’s Content Server API Extensions module allows custom and 3rd party applications to override the default behavior of OpenText REST API and CWS to allow developers to set the system “Created Date”, “Modified Date”, “Created By”, “Modified By” values. It also provides “Table Key Lookup” (TKL) support in CS10 and CS10.5.

Use Cases:

  • Override the OpenText Content Server REST API and CWS standard behavior to allow custom and 3rd party data loading and synchronization solutions to to set the “Created Date”, “Modified Date”, “Created By”, and “Modified By” values
  • Override OpenText Content Server CWS to provide support for Table Key Lookup (TKL) attributes during data loading or synchronizing external content with Content Server.

Key Benefits

  • Bulk Load content into Content Server for long term Records Management while maintaining “Created Date”, “Modified Date”, “Created By”, “Modified By” attributes for data compliance requirements
  • Easily deploy hybrid synchronization strategies by synchronizing on-premises content to the cloud
  • Modernize your workforce without compromising governance policies, security measures or existing system integrations.
  • Enhance legacy investments by extending compliance, security and control to other systems while empowering your enterprise users to readily access and collaborate on content from anywhere on any device.
  • Enable a practical, low-risk approach to digital transformation by orchestrating a bi-directional synchronization of your system-of-record to any cloud collaboration platform.
  • Take advantage of cloud collaboration capabilities while preserving your existing legacy investments.
  • Orchestrate content across your network of systems.
  • Integrate your content to maximize productivity and business value.
