Syntergy’s Announces Replicator Now Supports Content Server 10.5

Syntergy is excited to announce the latest release of Replicator. Version 10.1.5 now supports Content Server 10.5. This is the second release for Replicator in 2014. Improvements that have been added this year include:

  • Support for Content Server 10.5
  • The Dashboard user interface has been enhanced to provide built-in validation tools.

Syntergy’s Announces Data Manager Release 10.5

Release Bring Incredible Power to Content Server Data Movement

Syntergy is excited to announce the long awaited release of Data Manager 10.5 which includes Bulk Loader and Bulk Exporter. Syntergy has released a major update to the module and the improvements are designed to dramatically increase your ability to export and import content into Content Server. The new release has a simpler setup page that allows you to configure your data movement precisely how you want it. We have also enhanced validation, improved processing time and added many more options for managing the data in the latest release. These changes improve the efficiency of importing content into Content Server.

Syntergy has developed the new version of the Data Manager (formerly Bulk Exporter and Bulk Importer) module based on feedback from our many customers who use the module in various industries around the world. The most frequent request for improvement is always to increase the types of data that can be imported into and exported from Content Server and this new release is no exception. The new version allows users to add, remove and upgrade categories for an object. This improvement streamlines the handling of categories associated with objects. For example, in the past users would see errors if they tried to add attribute information on categories that needed to be upgraded. This required a two step process with the first step being a manual process to upgrade the categories and the second step being the Bulk Loader execution. The ability to add and delete categories adds equal efficiencies to the Bulk Loader process.

The new release of Data Manager adds additional validation of the input CSV file and faster loading of content. A more efficient approach to loading the data was implemented in this version resulting in improved loading and updating speeds. Data Manager also comes with an improved interface where the user specifies how and what is to be loaded. There has always been a tremendous amount of capability in the Bulk Loader and Bulk Exporter module but tapping into that capability has been a challenge for users. In the past they had to look at examples, study the User Guide and then keep their fingers crossed that everything was setup just right. The new release makes it much simpler to setup what you need to do.

Syntergy’s Announces Improved Website

Syntergy is excited to announce that our website has been updated to provide more information on our products, allow access to our current and recent newsletters, include videos that show how to use our products, include videos that show product tips and tricks, provide new product information and create an improved look and feel. The goal behind all of these updates is to make it easier for our current and potential customers to get the information they need about our products, services and organization.

The biggest addition to the website is the use of video to show the basic functionality of our products. People interested in a product can navigate to the product page and watch a short 3 to 4 minute video that shows the basic functionality. This will give them a good idea if the product fits their needs. If it does they can then request an evaluation copy so they can review all the features. We are going to be adding “tips and tricks” videos for our advanced users that already own the product. These videos will demonstrate advanced functionality more clearly than written documentation.

The redesigned website now has an area for viewing the current and past newsletters. Syntergy publishes this newsletter quarterly. Readers have often requested previous versions because they contain lots of information about our products, Content Server technology and Syntergy events and resources. The Newsletter Archive is available from the Resource Center menu.

One of the most important areas of the website is the Worldwide Events and Latest News sections located on the home page of our website. These scrolling banners list the upcoming events Syntergy will be attending and the latest activities for the company. Each event window has a link that can be clicked to expand the event information or to see all the scrolling information at one time.

Syntergy Announces Release of Director Desktop Application - One Customer buys over 3,000 licenses

Manage Content and Metadata with a New Easy to User Desktop Application

Syntergy is excited to announce Director, the latest in a long line of innovative products for Content Server. Syntergy Director for End Users is designed and developed from the ground up to ease the burden of managing content and metadata. Director is a desktop application that allows users to connect to one or more Content Server instances to perform operations such as export, import, copy and move of documents between Local or Network file system and Content Server. Because Director is powerful, yet easy to use one early adopter purchased well over 3,000 licenses so all of their users could work in Content Server using Director.

The key benefits of Director are:

  • Manage one or more Content Server instances from a centralized location
  • Drag & Drop enabled interface
  • Manage metadata by adding and updating category and attribute values
  • Export data (including metadata and versions) from Content Server to the local file system
  • Import files from a file system or network share while enriching the data with categories and attributes

  • No Content Server modules to install


All of these benefits allow users to more easily search and find documents. The improved accessibility and navigation mean users will use Content Server more. Director is great for Administrators as well. The easy to use interface allows them to reorganize content to improve the Information Architecture. It will also reduce the time IT or Content Server administrators spend classifying and organizing documents. Director also supports access to cloud environments such as Open Text Cloud.

Syntergy Announces Schedule for Innovation Tour 2014

Sydney Australia will be First Tour Stop

Syntergy is kicking off their 2014 schedule with a stop in Sydney, Australia on February 27 as a participant in the OpenText Innovation Tour. The Innovation tour allows organizations using Content Server to maximize their investment and interact directly with fellow Public Sector, Resource and technology professionals, learn about emerging trends, hear OpenText executives share their vision for the future, and participate in a variety of Enterprise Information Management (EIM) and industry focused breakout sessions. This event brings the Enterprise World experience -- complete with exclusive networking opportunities, exhibits, solution-specific tracks, and access to OpenText experts directly to customers in Sydney and New Zealand.

Syntergy is expecting a big turnout at the London show. Upgrading Content Server without having any downtime has received a lot of interest from our customers in Europe. “Syntergy has made a big push to support our global customers and it is really paying off,” said Doug Arthur, president of Syntergy. “We saw a lot of existing and prospective customers looking for a range of solutions including replication, bulk loading, upgrading and workflow. Our Upgrade product was probably the one people were most interested in. The ability to keep an existing version of Content Server online while an upgrade is taking place is a huge factor for organizations,” observed Arthur.
