Tyler
Lawton formed www.syntergy.com,
Inc. (Syntergy) in 1997. At the time, he
was working at QUALCOMM Incorporated as a consultant
in the Management Information Systems department.
When Qualcomm implemented Livelink® as
their document management system, Tyler was that
project's technical lead.
At that time, Livelink® had
no documentation. In fact, you had to FTP Livelink® from
an Open Text® server. Since
very few people knew Livelink® well,
Tyler learned to use and customize it by working
directly with the source code. He soon became
so proficient that Open Text® recruited
him to do Livelink® consulting
for them on the side. In fact, Tyler led some
of the first large Livelink® customizations
at AT&T Wireless and Sprint.
As Livelink® grew
in popularity, Tyler noticed that the demand
for high-quality Livelink® consulting
was so strong that he started Syntergy. Since
then, Syntergy became the first Open Text® Affinity
Partner and, until early 2002, focused entirely
on Livelink®. Syntergy continues
to grow to where it now has many experienced
developers across a variety of platforms.

"Syntergy" combines "Internet" and "synergy".
Tremendous productivity and
synergy happen when people access the wealth
of information gathered over the years. Walls
tumble between departments within corporations
as they realize the benefits of sharing their
information. The Internet allows information
and ideas to flow uninhibited around the world.
With the Internet as the backbone, companies
can further share this synergy with customers,
suppliers, and even competitors around the
world.

In Spanish, "la jolla" means "the
jewel". With its wonderful beaches, cultural
activities, and fine restaurants, La Jolla
is certainly the jewel of California. La Jolla
is also home to renowned institutions, such
as the Scripps Institution of Oceanography
and the Stephen Birch Aquarium & Museum.
It is also home to the University of California,
